What a weird system - even for E-Filing (supposed to be online system- easy to organize), we see random approvals. Hope someone realizes and makes the system organized better...

IV is not a mere website but an Organization. 95%% of IV activities happen as an organization - the website is just an interface. So you may not know what is happening and not properly informed
Juluy reversal was easy - all they had to do was fi a screwup, but changing legislation is not so easy. Companies, Lawyers, everyone have been trying hard to convince law makers to bring in changes to legislation - this effort has been happening for a long time - It is just not one rally that will solve the problem.
To bring i legislative changes some amount of activism also is necessary at times to wake up people.
IV is backed by Lawe Firms and Employers and is the largets grassroots organization for Skilled Immigrants.
A massive mobilization effort is the only way we can see results and the capacity to do that is only in the hands of IV - primarily because of the membership base and efficient leaders, very honest and sincere leaders etc...
In the past alsothe only way changes started happening in legislation is by grassroots movements only.
Yes, to answer your question - we are not sure if issues will be fixed, but then we are making a headway.
There may be more activities and rallies in future, IV follows stuff with strategy.
Yes, you can definitely help IVs cause by being a sincere and honest and dedicated member of IV.

In California they ask no questions.
I went for renewal with all papers including passport.
They did not even ask for any status or anything. Issued the DL for five years.

Is it possible to have a door to door campaign in apartment complexes and educating Indian/Chinese/Philippine population around DC area. Or maybe a group of 2-3 volunteers standing in ethinic groceries/eateries and educating our community of what we are trying to do and why we need their support and how it will benefit all of us. I know it is easy to say this but if we need people to be motivated we need along with this HIGH TECH... we need some personal touch. People will come if people see people going. I mean SEEING. Maybe these writings and commonsense things dicussed here inspires/motivates us but a majority need a push/nudge in person. Hope we could arrange for volunteers around DC area (driving distance to DC) and rally up more numbers.

IV is not a help group. If some one want to join a help group then go join a "Depressed people Organization". This is a make happen group, where we all fight for what is right. But unfortunately, we are just as strong as number of people actively supporting.
He did everything right and followed the process but now for a VERY stupid reason, he has to wait for 6+ years now. So, the simple question I ask now is what justice it is by having such a complicated Green Card process full of so much uncertainity and unfairness.
Thus, this guy of course should do all what you stated but must do much more, which is stand up for himself.
How can you be so mean specially at a time when he is under tremendous pressure. IV should try to comfort him and suggest him some alternatives. Contact your attorney ASAP and ask him to try to have a good write up and send the application again, who knows USCIS might accept your application (worst case ur app will come back again), but make it fast dont delay anymore.

Such an escalated tone has been established due to various reasons, based on the fact that there is documented evidence of some abuse. It is not to scare every h1b visa holder.
See - people are writing so many posts their their friend is having trouble in h1b , friends friend is having trouble in POE etc... but none of them are original posts. Just look around yourself and your friends - check to see if anyone really got screwed (genuine folks) - there may be some people who got additional grilling and that's it.
People are still traveling everyday and getting stamping and no issues at POE.
Like I said earlier "unless you set the ass on fire those who abuse will not straighten themselves" - greed overtakes any good forward thought.
Senators are not your own country senators and we cannot influence their thoughts or feel bad about what they think about h1b visa. All we do is make a case for ourselves that we are genuine and really interested in following the system.
AFAIK every h1b and GC case has been dealt with on a case to case basis and people who have really followed rules did not have much issues - we continue to follow the system because we believe in it.

Whether H! or EAD, if you are changing job it should be same or similar job classification. Using EAD is a blessing in disguise as there is no need to notify USCIS, unless there is a RFE. However, it is always better to inform USCIS and keep the job change in their file. It will help you when you travel on Adavnce parole. At POE, you need not fear to answer the question, whether you work for the same employer? you can answer saying you work for a new employer and AC21 has already been notified to USCIS.

I am currently on H1B visa and I want to switch the company. New company is not willing to do H1B transfer and want me to work on EAD. I have pending I485 EB3 ROW with priority date of March 2006. Its been more than 180 days that I filed for I485 so I can use AC21 with EAD.
But my question is how risky will it be if I switch job at this stage with EAD?

Either USCIS or your attorney screwed up.
In either case, ask your former attorney to provide the letter he wrote to USCIS to withdraw his representation. If he did what you asked, good forward the same to USCIS with a MTR and then file a DHS7001 form (google if you dont know the form) with USCIS Ombudsman.
if your attorney screwed up, hire another one first to file an MTR along with your communication to your attorney (also file DHS7001) showing that its the attorney who screwed up and not you. Next hire a good litigation attorney and beat the crap out of this slimy attorney and get him to pay some good $$$.
I sincerely hope its the former and not the latter. Even if its the latter, stay positive and engage a good attorney and litigate. You sure will win some $$$. :)
