My spouse is landing here on Aug 15. That leaves only one day to get medicals done. Any suggestions on how to handle this ? Can she skip skin test and take X-rays directly ?
For skin PPD test , you have to go back to Doctor after 24-72 hours to show the reaction.If nothing comes up its good , but incase you are positive then you will have to go for XRay , so obviously you need to plan for more than 1 day.

If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. Moreover voters demographics has changed since last election. Electorate is comprised of higher percentage of forward thinking younger generation.
IMO anti-immigrant racist voter percentage will be on decline in coming years. So democrats/gop is better off catering to the likes of this younger generation.

What is supplimentry exam? Is it that you did some extra courses after finishing your requisite courses for Bachelors? or are you refering to clearing your backlog subjects ( subjects from previous semesters that you had not cleared?). Where did you get your degree India or US?

So basically my degree completion is completed in 2002 (as I understood recently even though I was allowed to work and join the job I got in 2000 after my course completion). I got my degree in india. the problem is, the degree certificate they gave had date of dec 2000 in big letters and june 2002 in small letters (in parenthesis next to the dec 2000 date). the attorney took the date in big letters (dec 2000). I didn't know much about progressive experience and was not completely aware of progressive experience of EB2 requirement

This is crazy if this is how USCIS or DHS or whoever is going to interpret the law. We need some clarification from an experienced attorney. From the visa bulletin in Nov 2005, it does seem that USCIS is saying over subscribed countries will only get 7% in FY2006 and AC21 will not apply. If its only 2800 for EB2 and EB3 India then priority dates will never reach somewhere like 2005 or 06 for Indian nationals.
May be this explains why priority dates have got stuck at Jan 03 for EB2 India since october 2006.

I would try to get a letter from your school stating that you did graduate with B.S. degree in 2000 and 2000 was the graduation year. Try to get an official letter stating that. The letter could, if possible, explain why later dates appear on you degree transcript. However, it must underline that you graduated in year 2000.
If you can get an official letter from your university that will be great.

My application was sent on July20th to NSC.
Today I got a transfer notice saying application is transferred to Texas Service center. question
1. The Receipt number starts with WAC (CSC) but the notice tells it is under Texas service center. Where exactly is the application.
2. Is the Transfer notice same as application receipt or I will get a separate application receipt ? I do not see any received date column on the transfer notice.

If you hold work visa like H or L you may need to get the re-stamping upon the extension of your expired visa. H1 status and Visa stamping both are different things. H1 approval is the authorization to work in US, and Visa stamped on your passport is authorization to enter into USA.
Mostly H1 authorizations (form I-797) are issued for 3 years, so the Visa stamped on your passport reflects the date close to this expiry date, unless consulate gives you a Visa for duration less than the Date on your H1 form.
Once you get your visa extension, it comes with new I-94. But if you need to visit your home country or need to leave the US for any personal/business reason you have to get the stamping in your passport to re-enter the US. Before 911, one can send the passport and relevant documents to the U.S. State Department in Washington D.C. for renewal or re validation of the H1B visa stamp in the passport when the old visa has expired or within sixty (60) days of the H1B visa stamp expiration.
But in 2004, the re validation division discontinued the domestic visa re-validation. So now all the member who are looking for re-validation must go to home country or Canada/Mexico. But a recent (in 2007) U.S. Department of State (DOS) directive to U.S. consular posts requires consulting an electronic record for visa issuance in non immigrant categories H, L, O, P, and Q.
The new verification system requires that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) send information on all approved petitions requiring visa issuance to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), which is part of the DOS. KCC scans and enters all pertinent information including Form I-129, employer support letter, and beneficiary's identification documents into PIMS. KCC also conducts database checks looking for fraud, violations, or other adverse history and records. A petition must be confirmed in PIMS by the U.S. consular post before issuance of the visa. The USCIS has not been transmitting petitions filed for change of status and extension of status to the KCC. I dont see anything special in being a FT employee over a contractor. Just because you became a FT employee does not mean the company thinks you are the most perfect person to be their employee, it means you fit in their budget and they want to milk you services, so you become a 'one client wonder'. Contractor on the other hand gets paid more, gets to work on different projects . There is some uncertaininty due to job changes etc but if we are tracking it right its works well, in my last 4 yrs of contracting never been out of job.

Pardon me for saying this, you are stepping over the line.
