Not into LUD-watching per se, but I got an email update for my spouse's case - same message. June 30/July 2 filer, TSC -> CSC -> NSC route, RFE responded to recently (1/28) for my own I-485.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one... and it probably doesn't mean a whole lot at this point given the priority dates.

A lot of us can do and will do many things. Your argument does not stand ground. I dont ahave anything against this guy. I have a problem with the system that permits this activity. Because its not fair. By the way I seriously doubt this happens to people in my situation. This is typical of "desi consultant companies". So once again pontiff i dont have a grudge against this guy but the system that allows this to take place.

As the Past President of a PMI Chapter (PMP for the past 10 years and working in the field of Project management for the past 15 years) let me shed some light to this query.
Reasons why you should do PMP
1) If you believe you need a promotion, new job or rise the corporate ladder within the field of IT or management, take PMP.....Billing rate of PM's is $90-150/hr for consulting, full time could be from $100K-$250K. The next generation CIO's will be highly qualified PM's.
2) Job security for PMP's. The only job that will not be outsourced to India or China is that of a project manager.
3) PMP will help you get the project manager job, if you do not have one. However, become a Project Manager only if you like working with people. Trust me, if you hate politics and hate managing people, it is better for you to stay a techie. Your life will be miserable if you do not like managing people. Do something that you enjoy, rather than what you may hate. It is all about people and people management, rather than project management in the world of PMP's
4) PMP has become mandatory for all large gigs or projects. Small projects do not need PMP's and small projects do not pay well too.
5) PMP does not make you a better project manager. But PMP is needed by the industry. It is the experience that one gets from being on the field from different industries that makes one a good project manager.
I hope this should help some of you to make a decision to be a PMP or not.
Could not agree with this post more..In my case i manage a small team but also intentionally contribute in the development too just to keep my technical skills and not to mention i still get a kick out of coding :).. I find the development part easier. People management and the politics you need to deal with your peers and higher up is the tougher part. It can get really frustrating/stressful some times because you got to deliver stuff and maximise your team output with not many things you can actually control. Secondly, the current mess we are in was caused by the "sub prime" mortgage loans. If you know what "sub prime" means, then you probably know the areas where these houses were purchased. Have you seen the neighborhoods or the areas where these houses are foreclosed? A majority of us won't even drive through there, leave alone buying houses there. So obviously, us buying homes is not going to solve this economic mess. If you still insist, then you perhaps need to take a class on economics 101.

For expediting Interfiling, nothing in specific. I called USCIS 3-4 times and did one infopass visit. Everytime, the answer was same, "No Information". Few times it was difficult to explain to them what interfiling is. Then, I learnt to say "PD Amendment" (My lawyer used that term) with the two separate approved I140s. I called USCIS last Friday (Jul/18/2008), and they told me to wait 4-5 MONTHS. You can see how much off they are and IIO and IO work for the same USCIS. It is Ludicrous.
Best of Luck to you guys. Hope your GC is approved soon.

You are soliciting business from IV site. You don't have a disclaimer or no shame in doing that. You filled your charge country as UK and pretend to be GC aspirant. You can advertise your thing by paying IV, not by these cheap method of interfering here. I know you suck a big amount from people approching your firm for evaluation and take more amount (than the authorized) from them using the credit card details on file by giving lame excuse. I know many friend burn their hands.

You may admire them as much as you want but fact is these are just "glorified" bodyshoppers. I meet many workers from these "great" companies at my workplace and see them being treated just as "low cost alternatives" and nothing else by this huge financial company in NY/NJ area. Because of their (INFY, TATA, Wipro, Satyam) "low billing rates" these guys cant afford good lifestyle. And back home in India INFY and TATA CEOs make billions and talk BIG. I've not met any TATA, Satyam guy here who is happy with their employer. They just hate their employers and always looking for a change. I wonder where they stand in terms of employee satisfaction? They treat their people like slave and send them as low cost labor. Not only that - they exploit US immigration rules and make use of L1 to keep their people long term at cliant place when they dont get enough H1.
No difference from local bodyshoppers! Dont think they are great companies. You may say "you folks are frustrated with these companies". But this is the fact. Period.

It will be at least 6 months to become proficient. Can you expect to hire locally and train for 6 months in this competition? Where will the project go? It is not cost effective to get people on L1B and get them do the 'actual' work. Most of us work here as coordinators or client contacts. Not for doing actual work. And in that context there is no rule that is being exploited.

Atleast for me there is no hope for CIR, Peicemeal seems a best option, recently there was a WSJ report that President had agreed for piecemeal if CIR doesnt pass... but we need to be very very watchful...
after Healthcare experience there is little chance any big legislation will pass in this country we need people who care about country and would like to work with other end both sides seems either too liberal or conservative which is only good in winning elections...
