I know it is not the right place to put it. I could not find any appropriate thread. My wife is planning to go for H4 visa stamping in October. My question is can she go alone and what kind of documents she need. Our I-485 applications have reached USCIS on July 2nd. Any reply will be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Murthy didn't bring out the message correctly. If you read clearly his message is directed towards state govts which dont provide infrastructure and mandatory English as education. So, I think he meant that as long as state govts act upon giving good infrastructure and mandatory English, young talent will remain in India.

The man is worth $1.6 billion and need not resort to such cheap gimmicks and hez no longer the chief of Infosys. And the guy who cant interpret a simple message and calling it a gimmick whoz he? Some small time programmer sitting in a corner typing stuff about Infosys/gimmicks???--- LOL. Give the revolutionary businessman some respect will ya?

Thanks for the good work. However, I saw a major potential flaw in estimating the applications from ROW. The report finds the life cycle for a ROWer to submit 485 is 1 year, thus assuming little AOS applications will be filed in the coming year from ROW. But this analysis forgot to consider those ROWers who started GC in year 2008. A person who started working in 11/2008 is ready to submit 485 now and uses one quota, even if a person who just started working won't be able to submit AOS till a year from now. With this under consideration, I feel the spillover will be much less than initially estimated.

I am also waiting for a GC to buy a house ... can't buy on a H1 visa with a project that keeps on getting extended every 3-6 months. You need stability for at least a few years to put in a committment for a mortgage that you are going to pay for 30 years.
I also work in a IT consulting position but still decided to go ahead and buy a home in St Louis back in September 2007. My 485/EAD/AP was filed in August 2007 and EAD approved a few weeks back. However despite my current situation, I believe buying a home was a wise decision considering the kind of lifestyle and security it provides for you and your family. I know a lot of my friends who decided to take the plunge and bought houses though they were working on H1 and have their GCs pending for a few years.

Please remember that even if BEC clears the application with 2001 priority dates. These people still need to:
1) Apply for I140
2) Have I-140 Approved
3) Apply for I-485 only if their priority date is current
4) Complete various I-485 tasks like fingerprinting, BACKGROUND CHECKS (this is a huge one and unless you are lucky you can get stranded for anywhere between 6 months to 3 years)
5) Now after completing 1 - 4 above you can expect that they will apply a visa number to the application

I understand they release new numbers every quarters ( Jan-Feb-March).
Since all those numbers are already used up. we should not expect any movement in Feb and March either.

I received LUDs on my 485 and my wife's 485 and my H1 (Which was recently extended) and Already approved 140.
I have not used AC21 or any thing that would change any thing in my case.
So i guess LUDs may not be tied to AC21 use.
I received a soft lud on my H1B approved in Nov 2007. All other cases do not have any LUD. I guess it is just the system touching these records as routine maintainence.

I'm not sure how voting on this site is going to improve the chances of this bill. It is simply an application site 2 companies have created. It does not do us any good by voting on such site. It is like voting on petitiononline site annonymously. Pls help me understand the benefits if I am incorrect in understanding this site.

I am from Ohio and tried several times to join State Chapter. I did get PM from a member last week who asked me to get him my personal info, which I did but no rsponse from him..

How long does it usually take USCIS to accept the MTR. I am assuming if it's less than 6 months then we don't have to worry about being out of status?

how does one know NC is cleared? do you see an update?
No. Mine was cleared on July 22nd,08 - But did not see any LUDs.
If you had two different A#s (140 and 485) you will see an LUD on 140 when they reconcile the two.

Many of them were not confident of clearing labour on their own credentials ( BSC Zoology, BBA, BCOM etc..) or probably wanted to jump the line.
What make you think BCOM or BBA or BSC is less than any other Bachelor degree EB3 own labor guys have. I am not here to defend or oppose LS. But before you talk about people who are not from same educational background as you, you should come out of bottom of Rock you have been living and breathe some fresh air. I for one, who has BCom and able to get my labor and GC cleared without using any of short cuts. :mad::mad::mad:
